The Bell is Ringing
The bell is ringing.
Each day at 10:00 AM you can hear the South Elkhorn bell rung by an individual or family. The bell is meant for those who are isolated, so that they will know they are not alone. The South Elkhorn bell will join the sounds of bells across Kentucky in solidarity and witness to a greater love.
You can sign up to ring the bell here.
(I rang the bell with my family last Sunday, and you can see Thursday’s ringing here. More videos will be posted to the South Elkhorn Facebook page.)
When I hear the bells sound, I am reminded that New Life is already springing up. This is a beautiful moment of connection and community that I would never have anticipated only a week or two ago.
Moments like these continue to happen. God is at work. Stay strong and patient. Keep your eyes and ears open.
Grace and Peace,
PS – Church ministry staff met by zoom meeting this week. We are learning new ways to connect, communicate, record worship, and prepare for the coming weeks without being in the building together. Church phone messages and email are monitored remotely, and the mail is still collected regularly. The building is closed to visitors until it is safe to reopen to groups of people again. Thank you for helping us all practice safe physical distancing.
PPS – I love the way people are using zoom and other digital platforms to connect, do ministry, and grow. Just this week a Sunday School met, Men’s Bible Study gathered, and children and youth re-connected. If you are a group leader and would like to learn more, don’t hesitate to reach out about how we can use platforms like zoom. Or if you’re looking to join a group, let me know and we can get you plugged in.
